I’ve been shooting Orla’s portrait this morning. Orla is a young Irish girl who is working to become an actress. I'm sure she'll make it.
Shooting session with the wonderful Tempus Trio /
We spent a nice afternoon with those three music geniuses, shooting portraits of all their possible combinations.
Tempus Trio are Maria Tió, violin, Ricard Rovirosa, piano and Ferran Bardolet, cello.
Another portrait: Eduard JENER /
Last sunday I shot Eduard Jener portrait.
Eduard has been my neighbour for many years. He is the undisputed cultural chronicler of Sant Cugat. During the last 25 years he has written critiques of all the concerts, plays and performing arts in general, celebrated in the city, with a precise and very personal style.
Santi Aubert, new musician portrait. /
I know Santi since we were small kids. We went at the same school, many many years ago.
Santi Aubert was born in Olot. He studied with Maria Massià and Gerard Claret in Barcelona. He entered the professional world combining very diverse activities, accompanying singers, recording a lot of advertising, film music and participating in plays.
He was a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Palau de la Música Catalana and of the contemporary music group Bcn 216. He collaborated for about 15 years with the Barcelona and National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia and the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Towards 1985, he began his interest in ancient music, a field that has become his main current activity, having collaborated with numerous baroque orchestras, both in Europe and Spain and with several groups of chamber music.
He is currently artistic director of the Orquestra Barroca Catalana and since 1993 he has been a member of Le Concert des Nations directed by Jordi Savall.
With these trainings he has performed throughout Spain, Europe, South America, the United States, Canada and Asia. He has been recorded by Astrée-auvidis, Glossa, Alia Vox, K 617, TVC, Catalunya Ràdio, TVE and Radio Nacional de España and several European television and radio stations.
one more portrait: Hanoch Piven /
Yesterday morning I shot the portrait of my good friend Hanoch Piven. Hanoch is a very special artist, who creates illustrations using objects. Check his site to enter wonderful Piven world.
The witty illustrations of Hanoch Piven have appeared since 1992 in most major American magazines and newspapers such as Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, in many European publications from The London Times to Der Spiegel and in Israel, mainly in the daily Haaretz.
Piven's artwork, which engages the viewer’s active participation, has expanded into diverse other areas, such as children's books, apps for the iPad, advertising campaigns and TV programs.
Piven has lectured extensively about creativity and its application to various aspects of life in diverse platforms across the world, from Teach for All Global Conference to Tedx Conference in Jerusalem.
Throughout the last 15 years Piven has conducted workshops for children and adults alike. The workshop allows to easily experience a creative process and enables introspection and communication through the creation of a collage with common objects.
New portrait: Hélène Gélinas /
My lovely wife.
it has not been easy to try to adopt a subjective look, with someone so close, but I think I have managed to capture the sweetness of Hélène.
Hélène is, among many other things, a great painter. You can visit her site and admire her works.
"Reflected", nominee at the Fine Art Photography Awards /
My picture Reflected, has been nominated at the 4th Fine Art Photography Awards, in the “Abstract” category.

New musician portrait: Toni Saigi Chupi /
This morning I shot the portrait of my friend Chupi at BSO, his impressive studio in Barcelona.
Chupi, with his personal style of Hammond organ, is a pioneer of Funk music in Catalonia and a very charismatic artist on the stage. It has become popular in Spain and Latin America for its collaboration during the last years with the Pop group 'Jarabe de Palo'. He is also an award-winning composer of advertising spots (Cannes, San Sebastian) and music for cinema (Festival de Valladolid 2001). He was chosen by his peers (The Association of Musicians of Jazz and Creative Music) in 2000 as the best Catalan keyboardist.
